A Brighter Picture: New Research from Ofcom

by admin on December 4, 2010

Last night we managed to get our 200th vote – a great achievement.  However, just to show how the race is hotting up, tonight we slipped down to #40 in the National League (out of 2495 eligible exchanges) – and we were over-taken by Brenchley – our next door neighbour!!  Nothing like a bit of inter-village rivalry!  Please continue to vote for Goudhurst so that we can overtake Brenchley again (and if you have already voted, ask your neighbours and friends to vote):

In spite of the rather gloomy picture we posted yesterday, according to new research from Ocfom UK consumers are early adopters of new technologies and we are among the best connected for broadband, mobile and digital TV.  The UK has also seen the fastest growth in smartphone take-up.

We prefer laptops to desktop PCs, watch more internet TV than anyone else and spend more money shopping online than any of our European neighbours.

At the same time we’re also enjoying lower prices for our communications services than many consumers across the world.

All these facts and more are revealed in Ofcom’s fifth International Communications Market report. The annual report looks at take-up, availability and use of broadband, landlines, mobiles, TV and radio in the UK and 16 other countries. More HERE.
