Goudhurst Parish Wins KCC Superfast Rural Broadband Grant!

by admin on May 21, 2011

Goudhurst was one of five communities in Kent to win a grant of up to £100,000 in round one of KCC’s Superfast Rural Broadband Grant scheme.  The news was announced by Kevin Lynes, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development at yesterday’s Next Gen Roadshow held at the River Centre, Tonbridge.  More information can be found on the KCC website.  A further five communities were awarded grants in KCC’s older Broadband Grant Scheme.

Greg Clark, our local MP, speaking in his capacity as both a local MP and as Minister for Decentralisation praised Peter Rolington on our team for the work he has done on the West Kent Watch – which Peter has developed over the past six years – citing it as as great example of  “localism in action”.

Well done to the Golden Thread Project Team!  There will be more information about the project posted on this site in the coming weeks and months!
