Hi Maurice,

Suggest you go onto the GKLHS website and post your comment there – I am sure they can help you. Membership is only £5, by the way!

I am researching my family tree. My great grandfather Mark Stoakes was butcher in the village and I believe his first wife is buried in the grave yard.
The Stoakes family were friendly with the Cadmans who lived at Trundles and I visited as a child. On the website it says there were a Mr & mMrs Cadman and there was their Daughter Miss Pearcy Cadman( not another Mrs Cadman). After her parents died she lived on at Trundles And was the village Postmistress. Latterly her Brother Fred joined her and was church warden in Goudhurst . He died suddenly on the church steps. In later years Pearcy went to live at 50 Lurkins rise before going into a Nursing Home.
I hope these details will be useful in the village history records.

Hello,

I’m trying to find the baptism records for my 3rd Great Grandmother Mary Jane Martin born or baptised 9th January, 1824 mothers name Sarah Martin no mention of father. Live in Goudhurst Kent religion protestant. I have had no luck looking online with ancestry.com or the Latter Day Saints records.

I would appreciate any help you could suggest.

Thanking Susanne Schwartz
